Job Description

NB Publishers is looking for an energetic and innovative editor to work on our flourishing list of nonfiction, including biographies, memoirs, history, current affairs and business books. This challenging position requires someone with exceptional language skills in Afrikaans as well as English, a keen interest in South African issues, and a good feel for what readers are interested in. 

We are looking for someone

• with an excellent command of Afrikaans and English, who can write compelling copy in both
• who has a relevant tertiary qualification and who reads widely
• who has experience in publishing, editing or as a journalist
• who can conceptualise new books and structure content logically and accessibly
• is thorough, responsible and pays attention to detail
• who has outstanding organisational abilities and can manage a demanding programme to deadline and to budget
• who is energetic, innovative and thinks strategically
