Installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment within a fruit packhouse (e.g., sorting lines, conveyor systems, pumps, packing machinery)
Troubleshooting electrical faults and implementing corrective actions promptly
Conducting preventative maintenance to ensure optimal functioning and minimize downtime (Using an asset management system called Shopware)
Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical manuals
Ensuring compliance with all relevant electrical safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., SANS 10142-1)
Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory
Working effectively with other technical staff and production teams
Identifying opportunities for electrical system improvements and energy efficiency
Potentially supervising junior electricians or apprentices
Availability for on-call duties or extended hours during peak season
