Purpose Of The Job

• KPMG Services (Pty) Ltd is looking for a Senior Technology Consultant to work as part of our CIO Advisory team within our Technology Advisory service line. The candidate should demonstrate a rounded set of skills and experience in the technology consulting domain with a focus on enterprise architecture work.

Specialist Skills Required -
The specific set of expertise required for this role include(s) Enterprise Architecture and design skills. The related competencies for the successful candidate are made up of experience in:

• Enterprise capability modelling and operating model optimisation,
• Enterprise Architecture design services (Related to both Architecture domain and industry vertical architectures with experience of banking and/or telecoms industries),
• Solution Architecture and technical design (Across business and technology domains of: Business Process Management, SOA and Integration, Enterprise Content, Digital, Security, Data and cloud),
• Enterprise Architecture capability establishment

Key Job Duties Or Responsibilities

• Responsibilities will cover a wide variety of advisory tasks within the CIOA Advisory team. At the targeted level, specific focus is required on both client-facing and Internal responsibilities, these are not limited to - but should include:

Client-facing Responsibilities -

• Manage large teams and related solution work effort(s) at client engagements, fulfilling services related to CIO Advisory Enterprise Architecture services using formal methodologies and frameworks,
• Apply specialist skills and knowledge of current technologies, reference architectures, architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman, GWEA), design patterns, and modelling techniques in delivery of specific client solutions and requirements,
• Drive workshops, presentations and facilitation of topical session(s) at the client for the purpose of: Providing guidance and leadership on Enterprise Architecture, gathering pertinent client information related to Enterprise Architecture work, delivery of Enterprise Architecture awareness, as well as milestone deliverables within project engagements,
• Participate in the selling of the Enterprise Architecture offering by means of proposal building, and other recognised go-to-market approaches,
• Identify and manage appropriate risks related to engaging teams and KPMG,
• Accountable for quality review and certification of packaged deliverables prior to client distribution.

Internal Responsibilities -

• Management of allocated CIO Advisory Enterprise Architecture team operational responsibilities,
• Participate in CIO Advisory Enterprise Architecture team capability building activities (i.e. people, processes, knowledge and systems),
• Develop strong networks and relationships with colleagues from both within and outside of the CIO Advisory Enterprise Architecture team,
• Mentor and guide allocated team counselees regarding performance and career development.
• Participate and contribute to the KPMG global CIO Advisory network,
• Develop a respected brand by means of contributing thought leadership write-ups and community participation.

Qualifications -
Qualifications and Experience

• BSc Computer Science or BComm Information Systems / Informatics or a similarly relevant Information Technology degree from a recognised university,
• Relevant Architecture practice and modelling certifications e.g. TOGAF, Bredemeyer, Zachmann, UML etc.,
• Relevant Architecture tooling certifications e.g. Sparx, Casewise, ARIS, iServer etc.

Other Relevant Qualifications -

• Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or related business qualifications,
• Related technical or business domain certifications e.g. Banking (BIAN), Telecommunications (eTOM), SOA etc.,
• Project Management Professional (PMP) / Prince2,
• ITIL,
• CoBIT.

Experience -

• A minimum of 4-6 years as a practitioner of Enterprise Architecture within the technology advisory domain,
• Experience of working in a tier 1 consulting firm
• Experience in 2 or more business verticals essential - preference to financial services and telecoms
• Experience working and collaborating with senior level managers and C-level executives,
• Deep experience in at least two of the architecture domains (Business, Data, Application, Infrastructure Technology). Some experience in all of the architecture domains is an asset,
• Has demonstrated experience in delivering multiple components of Architecture and/or IT strategy initiatives,
• Has demonstrated enterprise and/or solution modelling experience (e.g. use case models, data models, UML models, business models),
• Experience with modelling tools is an asset (e.g. SPARX, Orbus, Casewise, other),
• Experience in leading, supervising and managing teams on Enterprise Architecture engagements,
• Experience in large scale collaborative engagements e.g. consortiums spanning over multiple clients/geographies and/or industry verticals,
• Experience and comfort with travel an asset. (Specifically within Africa).
