    Field Agronomist Assistant

    Support to Field Solution team to deliver high quality & usable data. To help with conducting field trials in a safe and efficient manner, providing quality data for use in biodossiers, project decision making and transfer of knowledge to Market Development and other Commercial functions (e.g. Sales & Customer Marketing).

    •  Perimeter of responsibility: Field Solutions cluster (South Africa) organization
    •  To support the carry out of allocated trials, safely, efficiently and to a high standard in order to provide useable data for the process of registration of new and existing active substances/products and determine the validity of proof of concept projects.
    •  Actively support Field Agronomist (FA) to provide knowledge and observations from field trials on project developments to Agronomic Solutions Manager by updating SCOUT continuously throughout the season.
    •  Get familiar with Scout database in order to support the FA to accurately and promptly use of the trial database (in most cases SCOUT), ensuring data is captured in Scout in time according data deadlines.
    •  Get familiar with the usage of the EDC app to increase trial data capacity & improve timelines of data available into SCOUT.
    •  Familiarize with Crop & Pests, and cropping practices for Western Cape area
    •  Familiarize & seek training from FA’s in team and AOM in effective & best Trial implementation methods & requirements.
    •  To adhere to all applicable safety regulations and procedures to ensure continued compliance with in-country Health & Safety regulations.

    WHO YOU ARE

    Experience & Qualifications

    •  University degree or equivalent in Agriculture, Horticulture or Biological/Data Sciences; with focus on crop protection
    •  Basic knowledge of crops and practical cropping systems
    •  Excellent human relationship and social competence (team work skills) required Flexible and reliable person.
    •  Proficient in English language - written and spoken
    •  Car driving license

    Skills & Knowledge

    •  Knowledge of field research trial set-up
    •  Ability to accurately take and record trial data
    •  Knowledge of farm and seed research equipment
    •  Individual leadership and people management skills
    •  Excellent organizational and record keeping skills
    •  Detail oriented with the ability to balance multiple tasks and achieve deadlines.
    •  Effective verbal communication skills
    •  Maintain a culture of excellence on and off field
