Filter Operator at Metso Outotec

JOB STATEMENT

• This position is responsible for providing Metso Outotec customers with professional technical support of its products. This position will coordinate and work closely with the Service Business Line Technical Support Teams to assure a common understanding/application of technical support and information to support and provide excellent customer service on Metso Outotec Equipment.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Effectively Operate filter to required standard.
• Properly wash filter and clean PLC box on each shift.
• Properly and effectively wash filter before each maintenance.
• Do cake moisture sampling at required intervals and record on log sheet.
• Measure manual density and record.
• Complete shift logbook with accurate value entries including all downtimes.
• Night shift team to bring log sheets to the office before knocking off.
• Conduct good housekeeping and dispose all unwanted material.
• Report all hazards and near misses on supplied booklet.
• Raise alarm immediately on identified malfunctions or defects on the filter during the shift.
• Responsible for the efficient operation of designated production equipment as assigned
• Responsible for start-up, operation, change over, shut down and preventative maintenance of assigned production equipment. Equipment may include, but not limited to, production line equipment, or other power equipment.
• Operate all assigned equipment safely and efficiently.
• Verify accuracy of work (i.e. QA line checks, verification of load-in/load-out accuracy).
• Provide general plant and facility clean.
• Monitor machines during every procedure to ensure optimum running
• Troubleshoot problems during machine operation
• Ensure that regular and preventative maintenance procedures are carried out
• Perform random tests to ensure accuracy
• Perform safety checks on every machine
• Safety consciousness
• Good mechanical orientation/dexterity.
• Good observation and listening skills to constantly monitor the equipment they are using.
• Ability to follow instructions and guidelines
• Able to work as part of a team
• Must reside within the area and be able to be on site within 45min from a breakdown callout.

RELATIONSHIPS

• Report directly to site Supervisor/Manager.
• Maintain a good relationship with Metso Outotec customers.

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL INTERFACES

• Key Global and Local customers within the Business Line
• Key suppliers
• Local SBL Customer Service Support teams

POSITION SPECIFICATION

Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant Trade /qualification or similar skills acquired by experience
• At least 1-3 years relevant experience in mining or similar industry environment
• Permits and certificates as required by local legislation.
• Previous experience as filter operator will be an advantage.
