    Financial Accountant - Sandton

    Job Description

    To provide support within scope of practice with regards to the coordination and management of financial and administrative function in line with relevant standards and in support of the Group’s financial objectives.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
    • 1-3 Years experience in similar role.
    • Good understanding of financial and accounting regulations.
    • Understanding of private healthcare industry accounting practices.

    Minimum work experience:

    • Maintenance of financial security by following internal controls.
    • Accurate preparation of journal entries and ledger account reconciliations.
    • Review of accounting transactions for accurate and proper classifications.
    • Prepares reconciliations of general ledger accounts and ensures timeous resolution of outstanding issues.
    • Maintains files (electronically and otherwise) for audit and file and information management purposes.
    • Prepare an analysis of relevant accounts to ensure all relevant expenses are recorded.
    • Compile data as required in order to prepare for monthly reports.
    • Enter, update or retrieve accounting data from automated systems (SAP) and other approved platforms.
    • Responds to accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
    • Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
    • Provide assistance to the Finance Manager and other senior managers, where applicable.
    • Assist with the analysis or projects as requested by the line manager and prepares reports outlining findings for the Finance Manager’s review and sign-off.
    • Ensure compliance to relevant policies and procedures with regards to asset removing.
    • Maintain the asset register.
    • Take accountability for asset replacement, verification and assessment process.
