FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

THE OPPORTUNITY

An opportunity has arisen in the Group for a Financial Accountant to provide strategic and accurate reporting. The portfolio will suit a knowledgeable, skilled, hands on, enthusiastic and highly energised individual. The portfolio reports directly to the Group Financial Manager - Operations.
PRIMARY PURPOSE

The primary purpose of the role will be to the Finance team with the finalisation of the year end audit which will involve drafting Financial statements, preparations of tax returns, liaising with Auditors etc. The candidate will also assist the Finance team in achieving its monthly objectives.

KEY DELIVERABLES

• Assisting with preparation of year end Audit (June year- end)
• Compilation of audit file - Assisting auditors with any queries they may have
• Forex tracking
• Preparation of monthly management Accounts
• Understand and prepare Financial statements Consolidations
• Require knowledge of IFRS
• Preparation of budgets
• Accurately reconcile GL accounts
• Completion and submission of statutory reports
• Any ad hoc reports that management deem necessary
• Ensure Inter- company transactions are correct and up to date
• Prepare monthly VAT returns and ensure timely filing of these returns
• Prepare tax deliverables, including SARS queries and objections
• Candidate may be required to travel nationally from time to time for stock counts / finance projects

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• B Com Accounting or CA (SA) with completed articles
• Minimum 3 years post articles experience
• Broad knowledge of accounting practices (IFRS)
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Outlook and Word
• Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics Axapta is an advantage
