    Financial Controller

    • An exciting opportunity has become available with a leading national logistics and supply chain organisation for a commercially focused Financial Controller to join their Finance team.
    • This is not a traditional financial reporting role. We are looking for someone who enjoys partnering with operations, analysing branch performance, identifying trends and driving profitability across a national branch network.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop, analyse and manage branch Profit & Loss statements across multiple branches.
    • Analyse revenue, expenses, margins and operational cost drivers.
    • Identify financial trends, risks and opportunities to improve branch profitability.
    • Partner with Branch Managers to review monthly financial performance and recommend optimisation initiatives.
    • Investigate variances and provide meaningful commercial insights.
    • Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
    • Monitor and improve key cost drivers including fleet, labour, fuel and transport costs.
    • Produce accurate management reports and financial analysis to support business decision-making.
    • Travel to branches to engage with operational teams and support performance improvement initiatives.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Management Accounting or a related field.
    • CA(SA) or CIMA qualification (or significant progress towards completion) will be highly advantageous.
    • Minimum 3–5 years' experience in Financial Controlling, Commercial Finance or Management Accounting.
    • Proven experience managing branch or multi-site Profit & Loss reporting.
    • Strong budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis experience.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
    • Experience within the logistics, transport, courier, distribution or supply chain industry is essential.
    • Experience with Power BI and ERP reporting systems will be advantageous.
