    Financial Controller - Cape Town

    Description
    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage a team of accountants (4)
    • Reviewing of month end processing of stock, revenue, expenses and balance sheet accounts
    • Manage and review margins of selected products to ensure correct capturing by team
    • Ensure accurate presentation in the management accounts of the selected virtual products
    • Analysis on monthly management accounts
    • Reviewing of accountants processing for accuracy and on-time delivery
    • Ensuring Aging of accounts are kept up to date
    • Liaising with the Tech and Product department to troubleshoot problems and streamline processes
    • Performing ad hoc investigations and reconciliations of large volume of transactions
    • Liaising with external partners with building and managing of processes and troubleshooting problems
    • Performing of VAT reasonability reconciliations, submission of VAT returns and assisting in VAT audits
    • Assisting on ad hoc projects and presentations from financial manager

    Build team and people capabilities through:

    • Providing real-time, ongoing coaching and feedback to team members throughout the year
    • On-time completion of performance management activities including regular 1:1s and Bi-annual performance reviews through GPS
    • Supporting employee development including facilitation of career development conversations and crafting development plans for current and future needs
    • Taking action to hire and retain high-performers and address poor performance
    • Proactively manage change initiatives within the team including sufficient planning/ preparation and communication to minimise disruption and support employee adoption.
    • Role modelling the behaviours that support and drive the Flash culture and values

    Requirements
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Completed BCom degree in Finance (and possibly Honours/CA)
    • Formal training in Accounting and VAT
    • 5+ years’ experience in stock, management, creditors, debtors and reconciliations
    • 3+ years team management experience
    • Advanced Excel (not negotiable)
    • Knowledge of SAGE (preferable)
