Maintain a good understanding of daily operational issues.
Assists the Plant Manager in coordinating tasks according to priorities and plans.
Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met accordingly.
Supervision and issuing of the work permit to the co-workers and/or subcontractors
Problem analysis: evaluate the problems that arises in the photovoltaic system, undertake a technical investigation, provide and implement a technically sound solution to the problem as required.
Sets objectives for the maintenance team; manages site personnel performance based on assigned duties and maintains a record of their performance through regular, formal evaluations; and makes recommendations.
Strive to ensure that plant perform at full capacity and efficiency.
Carry out legal and safe instructions issued by the Plant Manager to perform usual and additional duties complying with health and safety procedures for each task and area of work.
Active participation in troubleshooting (Faultfinding) or root cause analysis timeously when required.
Ensure that all notifications and report submission relating to the incidents and performance of the facility are submitted timeously.
Maintain good work relations with the client’s representatives and other stakeholders.
Oversee and assume responsibility for overall operations of the facility at the absence of the plant manager.
Skills/qualifications
Degree in Electrical Engineering
At least 5 years’ experience in Energy power plants or Electrical Substations Operation & Maintenance.
Excellent skills in Electrical Substations (knowledge of relay protections, HV breaker, HV transformers, HV switchgears, restart substations after breaker trips)
Valid certificate as well as a good understanding of High Voltage Regulations
Experience in switching LV, MV and HV systems. Backed by POE (portfolio of evidence)
High computer literacy and a proficiency in MS Office
Experience with lock-out, tag out procedures.
Ability to read electrical drawings.
Solid understanding of SCADA system.
Solid understanding of the power system protection.
