Front End Developer (Data) Senior Professional Officer at City of Cape Town

Requirements

• A relevant qualification (BTech or first degree), preferably in computer science, web development, information systems or related field
• Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

Key Performance Areas

• Front end development: To design, write, and iterate data visualisation code from prototype to production-ready by using open source frontend technologies to bring data concepts to life
• Data Integration Design: To develop fit-for-purpose, resilient, scalable, and future-proof data services to meet user needs which include the design and development of programmatic functionalities (APIs)
• Testing: To plan, design, manage, execute, and report, tests relevant to user facing data products, using appropriate tools and techniques, working within testing regulations
• Maintain and Support: To ensure the data product is functioning optimally, i.e. debug detected errors, and troubleshoot issues
• Monitoring: To monitor the progress and success of data products by automatic monitoring
• Project Collaboration: To collaborate with technical and non- technical colleagues
• Research, Analysis and Innovation: To conduct research in various areas for the purpose of innovation, and with the intent of constantly, proactively improving the data products
