Fund Accountant (Operations) (12-Month Contract) (CPT Onsite) at Datafin Recruitment

ENVIRONMENT:

• AN Independent Asset Management Firm seeks a Fund Accountant (Operations) to fill a 12-month Contract role where you will join the team responsible for monitoring and providing oversight of all Fund Accounting related services from third-party administrators across its global fund ranges.
• This position is central to building the operational foundation for that growth, working closely with the incoming ETF Operations Director to design and embed the processes that will support the range as it scales.
• Applicants must be CA(SA) qualified or possess a professional qualification, or demonstrable hands-on experience in ETF or CIS operations.

DUTIES:

• Build and stabilise the cash movement process related to ETF flows — inflows, outflows and distributions.
• Establish AMETF rebate calculations as a repeatable, controlled monthly process.
• Support onboarding of new market maker relationships as further ETFs launch.
• Assist with daily S&P iNAV/PCF and Pricing oversight — validating intraday NAV and portfolio composition files.
• Work closely with Fund Accounting, Compliance and External Administrators to embed controls into a new operating model.
• Document processes and procedures as the operating model is built, ready to hand over into business-as-usual.
• Responsible for the review of related invoices, preparation of budgets, and analysis of variances.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications –

• CA(SA) or equivalent professional qualification, or demonstrable hands-on experience in ETF or CIS operations.

Experience/Skills –

• Experience with CIS or ETF administration, reconciliations, or audit — direct ETF exposure a strong advantage.
• Comfort working in a fluid, still-forming environment where you’re helping define the process, not just following one.
