Gauteng Transport Manager at SA Metal Group

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Transport Manager will be responsible for:

• Scheduling and supervising of fleet – approximately 36 trucks and 12 bakkies
• Ensure the Controllers are continuously monitoring the fleet at all times
• Arrange with our in-house Truck Workshop or external providers to ensure vehicles are properly maintained and roadworthy
• Managing and overseeing Drivers, Administrators and Controllers
• Keep track of and account for all Diesel consumption
• Ensure that all customer transport requirements are completed timeously
• Ensure that all drivers have the correct documentation and equipment.

QUALIFYING CRITERIA

• Transportation management diploma or equivalent will be an advantage.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in a busy transport environment
• Computer proficiency; packages required : MS Word, Excel and outlook
