GISC Technologist Production Grade A – C (OSD Post)
Grade 12 plus Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in GISc or relevant qualification as recognized by SAQA.
Compulsory registration with South African Geomatics Council (SAGC) (previously known as PLATO) as a GISc Technologist.
Minimum of Three (3) years’ experience post registration. Valid Driver’s license.

Duties :
Perform technical spatial activities for infrastructure planning.
Collect credible data from different sources.
Capture data and update on a regular basis on required formats.
Analyse data according to application requirements.
Implement quality assurance.
Provide all GIS information for infrastructure deliverables e.g., Infrastructure Asset Management Plan, Project Initiation Reports/ Project Business case etc.
Contribute to the design of an appropriate spatial database for infrastructure planning in line with existing systems.
Document functional and user requirements.
Identify gap analysis.
Verify spatial data.
Update information.
Capture metadata records.
Produce fully functional maps customised to requirements of users.
Compile reports.
Spatial services.
Develop maps.
Collect and update all changes in terms of the comprehensive physical resources’ framework of the department.
Confirm land and building locations. Extract data and prepare reports.
Capture and update all GIS information on infrastructure reporting and related platforms.
Manage electronic document system in terms of IDMS requirements.
