Duties and Responsibilities    

• Analyses the spend portfolio within the Indirect spend category, MRO, Services, Energy and identifies, scopes, validates and then executes projects that will result in measurable value to the organisation, based on magnitude of spend, strategic importance and opportunities for value delivery
• Leads the development and implementation of sourcing strategies and projects for commodities in the Indirects category, MRO, Services, Energy through liaison and collaboration with BU’s and the formation of cross-functional sourcing teams (CFST)
• Provides leadership to CFST’s in the deployment of strategic procurement levers and techniques on assigned commodities and projects within the Indirects category, MRO, Services, Energy
• Is responsible for delivering and tracking quantifiable financial benefits and ensuring they are delivered onto the bottom-line
• Exhibits subject matter expertise regarding Indirects, MRO, Services, Energy trends so as to advise internal users on current and future market opportunities, and to implement proactive strategies to take advantage of such opportunities
• Acts as the central point of contact between Procurement and BU’s for all communications related to the Indirects category, MRO, Services, Energy. This includes the communication of standard processes, best practices, and progress reporting and issue resolution
• Fosters and manages key supplier relationships to create short- and long-term value for the I&J BU’s. Leads all efforts in educating the appropriate suppliers and internal stakeholders in the principles of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
• Analyses, supports and actively participates in the development and implementation of SRM and B-BBEE development programmes. These will include specific, individualised programmes for strategic Suppliers and generic programmes for non-strategic Suppliers
• Prepares for and leads key supplier negotiations, drafts contracts and SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and ensures Group Legal approval prior to implementation

Experience Required    

• Minimum 7 years Procurement Management experience, of which some must have been in a consulting or influencing role
• Experience and industry knowledge in Indirects, MRO, Services, Energy, and related, products and services is essential
• Prior exposure to category/commodity management, procurement or an engineering or production environment is highly desirable, as is demonstrated success in managing a multi-disciplinary team in a project-type environment. The ability to craft long-term internal and external business relationships, cause and manage change and provide strategic leadership is essential

Minimum Qualifications Required    

• A Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Business, Finance or Engineering
• A Postgraduate Business Management Qualification is preferred
• MBA will be advantageous
