Handyman at Premier FMCG (Pty) Ltd

Purpose of the job:

• To provide technical support with regards to the maintenance and planned preventive maintenance to the entire Milling Site.

Responsibilities:

• Clean facilities regularly.
• Regularly perform maintenance jobs and light repairs.
• Regularly perform various landscaping tasks.
• Fill gaps and provide painting services.
• Perform lighting installation and carpeting.
• Repair equipment and various machines and appliances.
• Identify, report and document maintenance and repair work.
• Suggest additional repairs when identified and needed.
• Participate in plant audits related to civil work to ensure timeous closure of raised issues.
• Inspection of height accessory equipment, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
• Inspection and signing of tasks allocated to assistants.
• Taking of daily water and gas readings.
• Glass and window inspections.
• Emergency light inspections.
• Fire door inspections.

Qualification Requirements    

• Grade 12 or equivalent.

Experience Requirements    

• Ability to use power and hand tools, hand drills, electric meters and hoisting equipment.
• 2 years of experience as a handyman.
• 2 years of experience with appropriate electrical tools and equipment.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems.
