Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience within economic development, programmes and projects environment.
Appropriate experience in project managements, working with communities, staff management and stakeholder engagements.
Knowledge of local government and municipal functions, related legislation and policies
A valid Code B/EB drivers’ licence
Key Performance Areas
Lead, manage and coordinate the economic development function to improve operations and drive service delivery.
Identify, define and scope appropriate operational and capital projects to stimulate local economic development and growth.
Manage the regulation, development and compliance monitoring of the informal trading sector, including
developmental interventions for the broader informal economy sector.
Participate in the formulation of developmental of the policies and strategies for the informal economy sector.
Provide strategic input in identifying the immediate, short and long term objectives/plans for the department in order to align people and business strategies.
Determine the branch’s budget requirements, ensure that the budget expenditure targets are regularly achieved, implement financial monitoring interventions and controls.
Ensure compliance to all human resource management policies.
Maintain stakeholder relationships and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
Manage and coordinate communication and flow of information within the branch.
