Head: Legal & Risk - Cape Town at Rain South Africa

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled individual to head up our Legal and Risk team. This individual will be responsible for managing the legal and risk management function of the company and providing strategic advice to support our growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement legal and risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and industry standards.
• Provide legal and risk management advice and support to senior management and other stakeholders on a wide range of legal and risk issues, including commercial contracts, intellectual property, and data protection.
• Manage and oversee all legal and risk aspects of the company's operations, including contract negotiations, dispute resolution and litigation.
• Work closely with external legal counsel and risk management advisors to manage legal and risk exposures and ensure the company's interests are protected.
• Keep abreast of legal and risk management developments and trends that may impact the company and advise on appropriate action.
• Manage and mentor a team of legal and risk management professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• 4+ years’ experience practicing law, preferably in a corporate or commercial environment.
• Strong knowledge of corporate law, commercial; contracts, intellectual property, data protection and risk management principles.
• Experience managing a team of legal and risk professionals is desirable.
