    Head of Growth Marketing

    • You’re an entrepreneurial, commercially minded person with an eye for an opportunity. You love getting stuck into the data to identify opportunities, and then using your creative streak to develop and execute innovative solutions. Being comfortable with marketing and website technologies, you’ll be able to get hands on and implement many of the solutions yourself.
    • Reporting into our Chief Marketing Officer, this is a newly created role focused on driving cost effective growth to achieve our very lofty ambitions.

    Main responsibilities will include:

    • With a focus on (but not limited to) acquisition, take the lead in developing our growth model
    • Adopt a data driven approach to identify and prioritise opportunities across channels, customer journeys and throughout the conversion funnel to rapidly accelerate growth, lower cost per acquisition and improve our customers’ experience
    • Identify and set targets for the key customer acquisition metrics, and measure performance against these
    • Generate a mix of innovative and traditional ideas to achieve your objectives, and then lead the implementation of these (working with Product, Data, Engineering and Marketing teams when required, but also being hands-on as much as possible)
    • Manage A/B testing and experimentation programmes in order to optimise and scale growth initiatives
    • Support the CMO in developing future growth strategies
    • Continually analyse customer feedback and user behaviour data to identify pain points and growth opportunities
    • Exchange ideas/data/feedback with other departments (Product, Marketing, Sales, Credit Risk, etc.) to improve our product offering and conversion rates

    THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR

    • Matric/Grade 12 (essential)
    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications or equivalent
    • 8+ years experience working within marketing, business development or digital innovation, with a minimum of 4 years experience focused on growth marketing
    • Strong track record of leading successful growth initiatives from data analysis and solution ideation phases, through to implementation, optimisation and then scaling
    • Experience developing growth strategies for new products
    • Strong understanding of conversion rate optimisation (CRO) principles and hacks
    • In-depth knowledge of web and digital marketing analytics
    • A/B testing and data analytics experience
    • Knowledgeable about referral marketing and how to create viral growth
    • Experience with common growth hackings tools such as Optimizely for A/B Testing, hotjar, email marketing platforms, etc.
    • Experience working within a fast-paced tech led industry would be ideal, extra points for fintech experience

    • Tech savvy; your knowledge of common website technologies, combined ideally with basic coding skills, will enable to you develop practical, scaleable and automated solutions
    • Customer focused; able to see things from the customer’s perspective and build an understanding of their needs, good comprehension of UX basics
    • Entrepreneurial by nature and comfortable operating in a fast paced, ever changing, scale up environment
    • Relentless in pursuit of growth
    • Able to see the big picture and think long term
    • Adaptable team player
    • Able to communicate effectively across a mix of functions and levels
