    Head of HR

    You will oversee the People Operations and Talent Acquisition initiatives for current and future workforce. You will be supported by a team in ensuring the internal systems of a high-growth tech support scale. This is a unique opportunity to join an established tech company that is expanding globally and directly support our management team in key decision-making. People are our most important asset and in this role, you will ensure that we have a happy and productive workplace where the team is enabled and supported to work towards our mission. Promoting our core values and shaping a positive culture will be a vital aspect of your responsibilities.  You will also direct our Talent Management function and oversee talent acquisition for all departments within the group to attract A-players. You will oversee performance and level reviews for the entire group, strategizing to retain and develop the best talent. You will make training & development plans for all our teams, and train department leads on matters crucial to the business such as planning for talent acquisition and retention within their teams.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Defining and implementing a people strategy that enables- and is aligned to the overall organisational strategic objectives
    • Establishing a partnership with EXCO and acting as an HR strategic advisor & mediator between all levels of the business
    • Owning the recruitment process by attracting top talent
    • Owning the talent management process by refining and implementing our people operations and talent processes which includes career planning, workforce- & succession planning, employee growth plans, job design & -evaluation and employee retention
    • Managing compensation, benefits and incentives which includes establishing a remuneration committee and benchmarking
    • Managing Incentive, recognition and rewards initiatives
    • Owning employee performance management which includes reviews, performance feedback, peer feedback and progress updates
    • Designing and executing learning and development initiatives to enable high-performance, high-growth careers for our employees
    • Building and managing a strong culture based on our core values and building a positive work environment. Driving employee engagement and owning internal communications such as announcements, policy updates and general updates
    • Refining and implementing employee wellness initiatives
    • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and policies to ensure that our processes evolve appropriately as we scale
    • Managing and developing a cross-functional HR team and ensuring that operational HR deliverables are met. These would include general administration, personnel administration, payroll inputs and off-boarding
    • Developing, defining and managing the implementation of Human Resources Policies and Procedures to ensure the provision of high quality, efficient solutions and interventions in line with the strategic objectives pertaining to the HR Department
    • Developing, interpreting & presenting HR metrics, -reports & -analytics and making recommendations based on findings and trends
    • Supporting our people operations and talent processes to scale by automating workflows and adopting suitable systems and software

    REQUIREMENTS

    Minimum 

    • Completed BCom HR- or Industrial and Organisational Psychology Degree
    • At least 5 years experience leading a people function, with an emphasis on talent acquisition & talent management, people operations, organisational development and training, with a demonstrable track record of designing and implementing human resources processes across a business that enables it to grow
    • People oriented and results driven
    • Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics/ HR Analytics
    • Leadership and organisational design
    • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
    • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
    • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
    • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels in the group
    • In-depth knowledge of labour law and HR best practices

    Advantageous 

    • Completed Honours degree
    • Prior experience leading a People function at Executive or Top Management Level
    • Prior experience in a Tech start-up environment
    • Experience in implementing and managing the labour relations/labour law functions of a rapidly scaling people operations/human resources team
    • Passionate about technology
