    Head of Strategic Marketing

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for all strategic marketing aspects and activities related to the Ground Support and HRD Business lines.
    • Responsible for business line product pricing strategy and pricing management in line with Epiroc Mandates.
    • Team leadership: Daily management of the staff assigned to both the Pricing and Market intelligence functions.
    • Sales enablement of the business line; Customer contracts management, as well as order acknowledgements. Working closely to support the sales organisation with special initiatives.
    • Responsible for management and development of intellectual property belonging to the business line. Monitoring the market for infringements on our protected IP as well as preventing infringement by Epiroc onto competitor IP.
    • Establishing and managing contractual strategic partnerships to support the objectives and strategies of the business line.
    • Identify and develop acquisition targets to support the growth and market position of the business line.
    • Tending to legal issues related to intellectual property, external partnerships, and acquisitions on behalf of the business line.
    • To serve as senior leadership to the business line and related staff. Support efficient operation and risk mitigation of the business line. Coordinate and monitor management activity to create stability and organisation among staff.
    • Other administrative tasks related to business activities within the business line; Co-Authorisation of Bank payments etc.

    Marketing

    Lead the marketing activity of the business line and related staff. This includes but is not limited to;

    • Conducting market and competitor research to inform the marketing strategy and support the efforts of the business.
    • Development of both global and regional marketing strategies to guide and support the efforts of the sales organisation and advance the objectives of the business lines. This extends to product mix, bundling and positioning, regional and special marketing campaigns, customer intelligence and networking.
    • Maintain modernised and effective marketing practices, channels, and tools across the business line.
    • Grow business line revenue and market share as well as develop the Epiroc Ground Support brand awareness, Customer loyalty and general credibility within the market.
    • Establish metrics to track the efficacy of the marketing efforts and strategy.
    • Formally communicate with customers on behalf of the two business lines.

    Commercial

    Lead the Commercial position and activity of the business lines and related staff. This includes but is not limited to;

    • Lead the Commercial position of the business line to ensure an optimal balance between revenue groMh, profitability and product demand is maintained.
    • Sales enablement for the business line including tendering and order acknowledgements.
    • Entering into and maintaining multi-year contracts with customers; reviewing, negotiating and authorising. Be responsible for commercial contracts assigned to you, generating, reviewing, ensuring compliance, and approving.
    • Setting product pricing and margins for the business lines both globally and regionally to balance company financial objectives with market price elasticity and the business line marketing and sales strategy.
    • Establishing pricing related KPI’s for the business line, setting targets and tracking progress towards these, adapting the pricing strategy as required to meet targets.
    • Formulating and authorising special pricing arrangements to support strategic marketing and sales objectives.
    • Apply corporate finance principals and best practices as required with regards to pricing, acquisitions and general financial work required by the business line.
    • Tending to legal issues related to external partnerships and acquisitions on behalf of the business line.
    • Negotiate on behalf of the business lines where required and apply negotiation tools and techniques to achieve fair outcomes.

    Strategy

    • Assist the VP Business Line and other Department Heads in formulating, executing, and tracking an overall business strategy for the business Lines.
    • Develop strategies related to Marl‹eting and Commercial in support of the overall business line strategy. Disseminate initiatives across the business to support these strategies.
    • Use both financial and market related data to identify trends and opportunities to improve the competitiveness of the business lines or advance its strategic objectives. Develop and implement creative initiatives towards this end.
    • Establishing and managing contractual Strategic partnerships to support the objectives and strategy of the to business lines.
    • Identify and develop acquisition targets to sUpport the growth and market position of the two business lines.
    • Drive  strategic objectives of the Business lines such as digitilization, entering new markets such as tinnelling and entering new product classes such as Composites and digital products.
    • Manage the patents and registered trademarks of the business lines, decide when and how to register new patents and trademarks as new technologies are developed by R&D department.
    • Register new patents, pay disbursements, maintain the IP database.
    • Tend to legal issues related to Patent and Trademark litigation.
    • Able to interpret market needs and trends against product fit and able conceptualise new products for development to suite future markets.

    Qualification Requirements

    • Min bachelor’s degree in marketing, Finane, Bus ness Administration, or a related fied. An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
    • 10+ years of experience in ą related field, with at least 5 years in a multidisciplinary leadership role.
    • Computer literate and proficient in Microsofi ExceJ, Work, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

    Knowledge and Experience

    • Able to demonstrate a history of competence and achievement within the Market development, Commercial and/or Business Management field.
    • Experience in Underground Mining and Tunnelling industries.
