    Head Project Development and Management

    Requirements

    • A relevant B.Eng. or BSc (Eng) engineering degree.
    • Registered as a Professional Engineer with ECSA
    • Post-graduate qualification in Project Management preferred
    • 10 and more years of experience in a project leadership role, with a focus on power generation projects
    • At least 5 years in a team leadership role in heavy industry, engineering and and/or capital projects
    • High level of expertise in capital project development and execution
    • In-depth knowledge of Power Generation and Transmission technologies, with focus on renewable energy
    • In-depth knowledge of power system operations, analysis and planning

    Key Performance Areas

    • Leading team of project management professionals in developing and executing programs to establish new power generation assets for the City
    • Leading the development and execution of large infrastructure programs related to the establishment of new power generation assets for the City
    • Introduction and hard wiring of international project management best practices into new and existing processes to ensure efficient and world-class delivery of capital projects by the department
    • Effective engagement at all levels of the City and with external stakeholders, including Council, Mayco, EMT, spheres of Government, regulators and others.
    • Effective management of staff to ensure efficient and effective meeting of sectional performance measures
    • Effective planning of operational expenditure related to the running of the section, related to project development, specialist studies, training, software procurement, travelling and others
    • Contributing to the development of an accurate operational and capital expenditure plan for the section, branch and department through the implementation of sound financial projection techniques.
