As Hotel Manager at The Bay Hotel, you carry full responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the property. You lead through your Heads of Department, ensuring smooth operations, consistent standards and a strong service culture across all areas of the hotel.
You act as the on-site ambassador for both The Bay Hotel and the Village n Life brand, balancing guest satisfaction, team leadership and commercial discipline. Working closely with Group Operations, property stakeholders and support teams, you ensure standards are upheld, risks are managed and the hotel operates efficiently within a seven-day hospitality environment.
This role requires confident leadership, operational sharpness and a visible, hands-on presence across the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
Take full ownership of daily hotel operations across all departments.
Lead, manage and support Heads of Department and senior team members.
Maintain high guest service standards and resolve guest concerns decisively.
Drive a consistent service culture aligned with The Bay Hotel brand standards.
Ensure clear communication and collaboration across all hotel departments.
Uphold property exclusivity, security and health & safety standards.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of the property, room categories, facilities and surrounding area.
Conduct regular walkabouts to ensure front- and back-of-house standards are consistently met.
Oversee duty management, rostering and operational coverage.
Implement and maintain SOPs across all operational areas.
Monitor service delivery, productivity levels and operational readiness.
Ensure food and beverage standards, presentation and quality are upheld without deviation.
Oversee stock control, purchasing processes and supplier compliance.
Monitor daily cash-ups, variances, voids and operational risks.
Manage incident reporting and corrective actions.
Oversee online guest feedback and reputation platforms.
Ensure legislative, operational and compliance requirements are met.
Prepare and review operational and management reports.
Work closely with Finance to manage budgets, cost controls and variances.
Support recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management on property.
Apply fair, consistent and compliant people management practices.
Participate in duty management, night shifts and senior management cover as required.
What We’re Looking For
Relevant tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management or a related field.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Hotel Manager or similar senior role within a 4- or 5-star environment.
Strong operational knowledge across rooms, food and beverage and service delivery.
Proven leadership ability within a fast-paced, guest-facing operation.
Solid understanding of hospitality compliance, health & safety and risk management.
Financial awareness with experience managing budgets, costs and controls.
Confident communicator with the ability to lead teams and engage guests professionally.
Hands-on leadership style with strong attention to detail.
Flexibility to work hours aligned to a seven-day hotel operation.
