    HR Practitioner Employee Relations

    Responsibilities:

    • Identify and assess level of issue-based risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
    • Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation, and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
    • Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status.
    • Liaise with HR stakeholders and investigate grievances and misconduct-related concerns.
    • Interact with customers and familiarise yourself with operational concerns and any inherent peculiarities (e.g., absenteeism, excessive overtime, sick leave abuse, lateness etc.)
    • Supervision and coordination of IR Processes.
    • Facilitate the resolution of employee grievances.
    • Participate in the formulation of company Employee Relations policies and procedure.
    • Keep appropriate record and compile monthly disciplinary and litigation statistic reports, both on SAP and employee files.
    • Assist with the preparation of cases referred for litigation.
    • Represent the company at the CCMA or MEIBC when necessary.
    • Identify and monitor IR trends and IR climate at TAS, and report monthly.
    • Track all union related issues and liaise with the shop steward council.
    • Assist with compiling letters to unions regarding IR issues.
    • Identify, co-ordinate and facilitate IR, Shop Steward and EE related training.
    • Schedule and arrange for all Unions meetings and Committee Meeting and capture minutes.
    • Compile all IR Reports for 20 Pager, HO and TAS.
    • Provide information and advice regarding legislation that may impact IR & ER issues.
    • Work overtime as and when required.
    • Prepare, control and plan for IR Budgets.
    • Chair Union meetings and liaise with Site Shop Stewards.

    Requirements: Qualification and Skill

    • 4 Years' relevant CU experience
    • Relevant Human Resources Degree or National Diploma
    • Advanced Labour Law Certificate
    • HR Policies, procedures & Labour Legislation
    • CCMA/Bargaining Council processes
    • MS Office
    • Negotiating and influencing skills
