About the job
Assist management to meet their key objectives through the effective use of people processes and oversee recruitment, industrial relations and Organizational Development initiatives such as retention and engagement.
Responsibilities
Ensure recruitment, selection and vetting is applied according to minimum standards in line with organization culture, philosophy and policy.
Ensure that all new employees including managers/supervisors are inducted with regards to employee policies, procedures and expected conduct when joining the organization and that existing employees are kept informed.
Ensure compliance with Operational Contract requirements on a daily basis
Act as HR Business Partner to Managers of the relevant Departments and assist and advise them in terms of all HR processes and People-related objectives.
Assist management in initiating and driving processes in establishing the desired culture
Collaboratively work with HR colleagues to ensure specialist advice and assistance to management and reaching of Key Objectives.
Advise management on anticipated trends and man plan issues
Implement and/or co-ordinate identified interventions in line with HR Strategy to ensure optimal efficiency of employees
Assist with the implementation and effective performance management and identified talent management processes
Oversee industrial relations practices and facilitate employee relations through establishment of structures promoting diversification.
Prepare and submit Annual Employment Equity plans and reports to the Department of Labour
Implement and maintain effective internal communication system
Analyze turnover trends, and conduct exit interviews
Submit monthly reports on appointments, attrition, retention and disciplinary issues
Report on Transformation
Report on headcount and budgets
Health and Safety
Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the branch/region/national safety plans for each year.
Participate in safety forums created by company for example safety meetings and safety talks
Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
Discuss all safety incidents on all levels
Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting/committee/representative/management
Attend safety education and refresher programmes
Comply with safety policies and procedures at workplace
Distribute safety information as and when required
Wear protective clothing all the time
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Grade 12.
3 Year Diploma/Degree in Human Resources / Behavioral Science
SABPP association
Studying toward Higher Degree - advantageous
Experience (Technical / Professional)
Knowledge: Sound Experience in Recruitment, industrial relations (disciplinary, grievance, incapacity procedures CCMA matters) and labour legislations (LRA, BCEA,).
