Human Resource Practitioner (Captain) at South African Police Service (SAPS)

Generic Requirements: 

• Be in possession of a Senior Certificate / Grade 12 / National Certificate (Vocational) recorded on the National Learner Record Database (NL-RD) on at least NQF level 4; 
• Applicants must display competency in the post-specific functions of the post; 
• Be proficient in at least two official languages, of which one must be English; 
• Be a citizen of the Republic of South Africa of which documentary proof must be furnished on the day of interview; 
• Must have no previous convictions or pending criminal / departmental or civil cases;
• Must not have tattoo/s marks which will be visible when wearing any uniform of the Service; 
• Computer Literacy; 
• Interpersonal, communication and Organizational Skills; 
• Analytical, Self-Management and Problem Solving Skills; 
• Report Writing, presentation, development skills; 
• Relevant courses in the field of the post may be an advantage. 

Additional Requirements: 

• Must be in position of a (3) three-year Degree in Nursing Science, Social Work, Psychology or related qualification (accredited by SAQA on NQF level 7 or higher). 
• Must have (2) two years’ experience in the implementation of HIV & AIDS, STIs, TB (HAST) and COVID-19 management. 
• Must be registered with the relevant professional regulatory/ legislative body and must submit proof of registration for 2026/2027 financial year. 
• Project management certificate will be an added advantage. 
• Must be in possession of a valid driver’s license. *Must be medically, physically, and mentally fit. 

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies: 

• Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies. 
• Must have the ability to work with diverse groups. 
• Must have good interpersonal, communication, presentation/group facilitation, problem solving and administrative skills. 
• Be conversant with the latest National Strategic Plan (NSP) for HIV & AIDS, STIs and TB. 
• Be well conversant with the DPSA Strategic Framework for Employee Health and Wellness (EHW) and any other relevant legislation. 
• General Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Office, MS Power Point, Outlook). 
• Demonstrate competency in acting independently, Professionally, Accountable and with Credibility. 
• Good verbal and written communication skills. 
• Strong interpersonal skills. 
• Report writing. 
• Presentation Skills, Problem Solving, Sound Planning, Organizing and Administration skills, Strong Analytical. 

Core Functions: 

• Implement, monitor and review the HIV & AIDS, STI’s and TB, Covid wellness process development (strategies/policy/guidelines/business plan). 
• Facilitate the implementation of HAST interventions in the Head Office Divisions. 
• Manage human and physical resources allocated to HAST Sub-Section. 
• Establish and sustain partnership with internal and external stakeholders. 
• Management of information, monitoring and evaluation process within the immediate environment. 
• Manage Human, Physical and Financial Resources of the Sub-Section.
