    Human Resources Administrator

    SBS seeks a proactive, detail-orientated, organised and deadline driven HR Administrator to operate in SBS Corporate Services in the Human Resources Team. 

    The purpose of this role is to provide an all-round HR administrative function to the Human Resources Team. 

    Core Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

     The main responsibilities as the HR Administrator will be to maintain and update employee records, as well as manage various HR admin documents, such as HR processes, and internal databases, such as leave.

    • The HR Administrator will act as the first point of call to employees for all HR admin related queries.
    • As a priority, the HR Administrator will manage the majority of employee documentation, including leave forms, new hire paperwork and starter packs, preparation of contracts, as well as termination paperwork.
    • Manage the administration of employee benefits, i.e. provident fund.
    • Assist with any other administrative tasks as and when they arise, including helping the HR Director and the broader HR team.
    • Being the first point of contact for employees on any HR admin related queries. Answering employees’ queries about HR-related issues.
    • Working closely with the Talent Specialist and HR Co-ordinator to onboard new employees.
    • Creating, organising and maintaining employee records on the HR shared drive.
    • Updating internal databases, such as annual, sick and maternity leave. 
    • Preparing and amending HR documents where necessary, i.e. employment contracts, HR processes, etc.
    • Assisting the HR Director with the Payroll by collating relevant employee information, i.e. work schedules, leave, etc.
    • Reporting and presenting regularly on HR metrics, such as employee headcount and demographics, turnover rates, leave trends, resignations and terminations, results from staff satisfaction surveys.
    • Helping with various internal activities, such as processing expense forms and submitting these to the Finance department.
    • Participating in HR initiatives and events.
    • Collating all information for Employment Equity, Skills Development, and BEE reporting; liaise with Consultant.
    • Setting up disciplinary hearings/meetings.
    • Legal/Compliance – Ensuring WCA forms are submitted, and letter of good standing is up to date. 

    Whilst these are ongoing daily duties, monthly milestones to review performance have been set.  

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required:

    •  Degree/Diploma in either HR, Administration, Management or a business-related field.
    •  An HR related background would be advantageous.
    •  Minimum 5 years’ experience.
    •  Previous administrative experience is essential.
    •  Experience as an HR Administrator, HR Assistant Administrator or relevant. 
    •  A valid Driver's License is essentail.

    • Good communication and relationship building skills, as the HR Administrator will work with various people across the organisation.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Computer literate and proficient with programmes such as Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
