    HR OFFICER – MATCH FACTORY (ROSSLYN, PRETORIA)


    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    To provide a holistic HR function at a tactical level with a comprehensive bias towards HR Administration and the general coordination of all HR Processes and activities on site whilst collaborating with the HR Manager to ensure that HR Delivery on site is sound, efficient and professional. The role will report directly to the Human Resources Manager on site. This role calls for an individual with developing management skills, with some experience on CCMA processes particularly arbitrations and understanding of the CCMA rules and employment law in general. Functional knowledge and experience of working with Trade Unions in a unionised environment is strongly recommended.


    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • HR strategy and HR Policy
      • Assist In the implementation of the strategy in the plant i.e. communication, culture, transformation, etc.
      • Implement agreed and mandated policies of the Group and ensure employees are sufficiently / reasonably informed.
      • Provide input to the HR Manager and local management on policy matters and or development as and when required.
      • Form part of the Group HR Forum.
    • Recruitment and selection
      • Assist with consistent application of policies and processes relative to recruitment and selection.
      • Spearhead the recruitment and placement of factory employees within the confines of Company policy, procedure and general ethical conduct.
      • Ensure that all mandatory documentation is in place i.e. job descriptions, employment contracts, assessment records, etc.
      • Ensure that the on-boarding processes are followed correctly for all new recruits.
    • Skills development / Employee Training
      • Assist in the organization of skills programmes and implementation
      • Ensure proper record keeping for reporting purposes i.e. WSP, ATR, BEE
      • Assist with conducting skills audit in the plant when required to ensure correct strategic matrix is in place and follow through thereof.
      • Assist with the management of the graduate and learnership programmes as well as YES Programme where relevant.
      • Liaise with relevant SETAs to source mandatory and discretionary Funding
    • Employee Relations
      • Assist in ensuring that fair labour practices are adhered to in the plant.
      • Coordinate disciplinary hearings on site and ensure proper application of Company procedure and retention of records.
      • Attend to CCMA Conciliation and Arbitration Matters for the Match Division and ensure proper preparation and regular feedback to the HR Manager and if required to the Group HR Executive.
      • Coordinate meetings with employees, Shop Stewards and Management on site for the purposes of addressing operational and relationship issues.
      • Be a positive force and a professional conduit in the Workplace with the ability to step in and assume responsibility in the absence of the HR Manager.
    • Administration and Coordination of activities
      • Spearhead the organization and coordination of recognition programs i.e. long service awards, monthly incentives, other.
      • Lead the gathering of data and submission of HR monthly reports
      • Assist with coordination of employee exit interviews.
      • Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.
      • Statutory reporting and Projects
      • Gathering of information and updating of reports as per due dates i.e. skills development, employment equity
      • Attend to assigned projects on time and expeditiously without fail.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • B degree or Diploma in HRM or the equivalent qualification
    • Minimum 5 years in human resources experience preferably in a unionised environment.
    • Basic knowledge and understanding of the labour law/labour relations aspects/HR practices
