Inspector: Fleet at Nelson Mandela Bay Metro

Qualifications and experience required:

• Trade Certificate (Motor or Diesel Mechanic).
• Special Workman – preferably a Proficiency Certificate, Grade 11 or equivalent N2 Level Certificate.
• One to two years’ experience (relevant Heavy Plant/Vehicle Inspectorate).
• Two to three years’ special workman experience required.
• A valid Code EC driver’s licence.
• Computer literacy.

Job purpose:

• Inspecting vehicle or plant prior to and on completion of maintenance/repair work applying technical and investigative procedures to assess conformity with quality standards and safety requirements, providing options and/or complaints and attending to specific clerical reporting and record-keeping requirements in order to ensure service standards are maintained, contributing to the availability of an efficient and reliable fleet to enable execution of services.
• As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
