IS Manager at ABB

You will be working as a IS Manager and will be the part of Industrial Automation business based in Modderfontein, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Sales Manager- Solar Inverters and will be responsible to lead a multi-national team of lower level managers , providing appropriate and efficient IS Solutions/IS Services to a defined geographic area, eventually manage hosted IS resources and support global IS projects in respect of local implementation. Act as an IS Business Partner for the related geographical management or for the appropriate local management.


Your Responsibilities

• Solutions: Performing analyses, making recommendations, and inspiring delivery of specific systems or projects leading to improved efficiency, effectiveness, quality or operational functionality within the area of responsibility.
• IS Delivery: Monitoring and supervising delivery of IS solution or service or support to relevant customer group ensuring execution of requirements within budgeted costs and time schedule. Responsible for effective interfaces between local/corporate IS teams for all IS activities and, where required, ensures adherence to agreed service level agreements in relevant responsibility area, making certain that agreed time, budget and quality specifications are met.
• Processes: Ensuring the installation or management or maintenance or optimization of internal and cross-functional processes related to IS Service delivery or IS Service demand in relevant area of responsibility.
• IS Standards: Ensuring work in the area of responsibility is aligned to given goals and compliant with ABB IS Enterprise Architecture and any other applicable ABB Group Directives and ABB Group Guidelines.
• Budget: Managing assigned budget effectively and delivers activities within agreed schedules and costs. Participating in the definition of costs and schedules.
• Stakeholder Management: Ensuring satisfaction with IS services by assessing expectations, making sure actions are taken to close any gaps, and influencing stakeholder perceptions of IS service. Managing relationships with stakeholders to update status, resolve issues, and manage expectations. (Stakeholders may be internal to IS or customers from the business.)
• Incident Change or Project: Consulting and providing input for any incident, change or project which has, or might have, a major impact on area of responsibility.
• Governance: Executing for assigned tasks, all actions in IS processes according to agreed RACIS specification.
• IS Strategy: Supporting the implementation of ABB IS Strategy and the ABB IS Enterprise Architecture for relevant area of responsibility.

Your background

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in an IT Management position within a global organization.
• Required IT Experience in IT Infrastructure and applications complemented with your people management experience in leading developing and motivation a workforce will make you the ideal candidate.
• Required experience in working with both insourced and outsourced environments and dealing with the IS Service providers for the provisions of services and projects together with your understanding of ITIL frameworks and internal controls for IS/IT will also count in your favor.
• Required experience in working with SAP implementations will be an added advantage.
• Strong Good communication and interpersonal skills.
