    Jnr IR Helpdesk Technician

    Description

    • We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Junior IT Helpdesk Technician to join our team. The Junior IT Helpdesk Technician will be responsible for providing first-line technical support to our internal employees, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring smooth operation of our IT systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for technology, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a desire to grow and develop in the IT field.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide first-line technical support to end-users via various communication channels, including in-person, phone, and email.
    • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, such as computer crashes, network connectivity problems, printer malfunctions, and software configuration errors.
    • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, peripherals, and software applications.
    • Set up and deploy new workstations, ensuring proper installation and connectivity.
    • Create and manage user accounts, passwords, and access rights within our IT systems.
    • Assist with the maintenance and administration of network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and wireless access points.
    • Monitor and respond to system alerts and notifications to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems.
    • Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff or external vendors when necessary.
    • Maintain accurate records of support requests and document troubleshooting steps and resolutions.
    • Keep up-to-date with the latest technology trends and industry developments.

    Requirements:

    • High school Grade 12 or equivalent; relevant certifications or technical training is a plus CompTIA A+or N.
    • Previous experience in an IT support role or customer service position is desirable.
    • Solid understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, networking concepts, and software applications.
    • Familiarity with common productivity software, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Basic knowledge of Active Directory, user account management, and security principles.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
    • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
