We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Junior IT Helpdesk Technician to join our team. The Junior IT Helpdesk Technician will be responsible for providing first-line technical support to our internal employees, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring smooth operation of our IT systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for technology, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a desire to grow and develop in the IT field.
Responsibilities:
Provide first-line technical support to end-users via various communication channels, including in-person, phone, and email.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, such as computer crashes, network connectivity problems, printer malfunctions, and software configuration errors.
Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, peripherals, and software applications.
Set up and deploy new workstations, ensuring proper installation and connectivity.
Create and manage user accounts, passwords, and access rights within our IT systems.
Assist with the maintenance and administration of network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and wireless access points.
Monitor and respond to system alerts and notifications to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems.
Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff or external vendors when necessary.
Maintain accurate records of support requests and document troubleshooting steps and resolutions.
Keep up-to-date with the latest technology trends and industry developments.
Requirements:
High school Grade 12 or equivalent; relevant certifications or technical training is a plus CompTIA A+or N.
Previous experience in an IT support role or customer service position is desirable.
Solid understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, networking concepts, and software applications.
Familiarity with common productivity software, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
Basic knowledge of Active Directory, user account management, and security principles.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
Strong customer service orientation and the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
