Junior Buyer (Retail) at Profile Personnel

Job Description

• A well-established retail organisation is looking for a Junior Buyer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Accounting, Auditing or Finance graduate who wants to move beyond the traditional accounting environment and build a career in retail buying and commercial management.

Purpose of the role:

• The successful candidate will support the buying function by using their strong numerical and analytical skills to assist with product costs, pricing, margins, sales performance and commercial decision-making.
• This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable exposure to the retail environment while developing practical buying and commercial experience.

Key responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

• Assist with the buying and selection of products.
• Analyse costs, margins, pricing and sales performance.
• Monitor product and supplier information to support purchasing decisions.
• Assist with stock and product analysis.
• Prepare and maintain accurate reports and buying information.
• Support the buying team with day-to-day administrative and analytical tasks.
• Identify trends and opportunities through data analysis.
• Work closely with internal teams and suppliers as required.

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance or a related field.
• Strong numerical and analytical ability.
• Good understanding of financial principles, costs and margins.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong computer and Excel skills.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A genuine interest in retail, buying and commercial operations.
• Highly motivated with a willingness to learn and develop.
