Junior DevOps Engineer at Vito Solutions

JOB OVERVIEW:

The primary focus of this position is to administrate, configure, monitor, and maintain our continuous integration and source control areas. You will need to be helpful and supportive to your team and fellow developers. You'll join an energetic, focused, and dynamic team.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

Develop Frameworks to do the following:

• Build and Deploy Java Applications, Javascript, and containerized applications
• Jasper Report Deployments
• Oracle Stored Object Compilations
• Provision infrastructure with Terraform

Source Control Management using:

• Subversion Edge
• GitLab - Maintain on the latest version as well as Backup & Recovery

Application Server Administration using:

• Weblogic, Tomcat, and Docker - Install & configure, Monitor & Maintain and Troubleshoot & problem solve.

Continuous Delivery Pipelines using Jenkins:

• ADF Deployments
• Java Spring Deployments
• Html / javaScript Deployments

Monitoring:

• Troubleshooting potential issues (Reactive/Proactive)
• Monitoring tools used: Oracle Enterprise Manager 13C, Nagios / Icinga, App Dynamics, Graylog / ELK, and Google Cloud Operations.

Documentation:

• Document all processes and procedures, installation/configuration/upgrade processes

Research & Development:

• Investigate and access new tools to be used in the DevOps environment and their viability as well as their fit.
• Think on an enterprise scale. I.E reuse, flexibility, fit for purpose, cultural fit within the company
• Ongoing process re-engineering to adapt continuous integration environment to technological changes.

Support Development teams with build processes and release management of new changes to production.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Matric
• Tertiary qualification in IT

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• 3 years experience in Linux, continuous integration (Jenkins), scripting in Groovy, Python, and, Shell
