Tasks

Operational & Technical Output

• Direct outside broadcasts and/or studio productions (Live and/or pre-recorded)
• Direct a crew on either an Outside broadcast live sporting events (Cricket, Rugby, Football, Golf, Athletics, Basketball) or in a studio to achieve the desired results as instructed by the producer/business
• Execute Producer’s running orders and requirements to ensure faultless, smooth and successful productions
• Ensure that the Producer’s editorial line is followed
• Determine camera layout and technical requirements on production
• To perform technical (Audio and Video) quality control throughout the broadcast
• Do a technical/facility check before live productions – Outside Broadcast and Studio
• Do a full rehearsal prior to going on-air
• Brief all crew and on-air personal/talent/commentators before the rehearsal
• Quality check inserts, graphics and any additional elements required
• Keep an eye on Sponsorship keys
• Communicate with on-air personal

Reporting/Administration

• Provide timely and accurate Sober Feedback reports in accordance with business and management requirements
• Report on status and timelines regarding production to Senior manager, Senior Producers, Producers

Initiative and Training

• Be proactive by suggesting new, creative and innovative ways to improve our offering to our customers.
• Be passionate about delivering a world class, error-free Live/recorded production and service to our customers.
• Be a team player by assisting when required to do so with regards to training, coaching/mentoring new staff.
• Commit to upskilling and training.

Stakeholder Relations

• Provide specialised and technical support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of functional and organisational objectives
• Establish and monitor healthy, diverse internal and external relations and implement remedial actions where required, in the achievement of organisational goals

Qualifications Essential

• Grade 12

Qualification Preferred

• Diploma / equivalent in Media or related advantageous

Experience

• A minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience in live broadcasting
• Thorough knowledge of the Sports spectrum
