Candidate Requirements:
FGASA/Nature guiding qualification appropriate for game drives and walks in the Greater Kruger (or equivalent).
Valid PDP and driver’s license.
Current first aid certification suitable for field operations.
Minimum of 3–5 years guiding experience in a Big 5 or similar reserve, including walking safaris.
Strong bush knowledge (fauna, flora, ecology, tracking, birds) and passion for ongoing learning.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills in English; additional local languages an advantage.
Calm, confident decision-maker under pressure, especially in wildlife encounters and emergencies.
Alignment with the lodge’s wellness and community education values; respectful and inclusive attitude.
Responsibilities:
Conduct guided game drives and walking safaris, with a strong focus on safety, ethical wildlife viewing, and guest enjoyment.
Deliver engaging, accurate interpretation on wildlife, ecology, conservation, local culture, and wellness-related aspects of nature.
Adapt guiding style to different guest needs (wellness-focused, photographic, family, educational groups).
Uphold and model exceptional guest service standards, including professional communication, punctuality, and presentation.
Promote and model ethical, low-impact guiding practices that respect wildlife and habitat, and support conservation objectives.
Support and enhance the educational focus of a non-profit, off-grid educational eco-tented camp, particularly for community and school groups.
