    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The incumbent will be responsible for:

    • Lecturing modules in general chemistry at our Mamelodi or Hatfield Campuses;
    • Lecturing modules in Analytical, Inorganic, or Organic chemistry;
    • Revising, updating, or developing new course material and practicals for modules in general chemistry;
    • Revising, updating, or developing new course material and practicals for modules in Analytical, Inorganic, or Organic chemistry modules at the undergraduate and postgraduate level;
    • Pursuing and developing your own long-term research program aligned with existing research programmes in the department;
    • Recruiting and training postgraduate students;
    • Applying for national and international funding;
    • Publishing in DHET accredited peer-reviewed journals;
    • Community engagement;
    • Administrative duties commensurate with the position and as set by the HoD.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • A PhD in Chemistry;
    • A record of publication of peer-reviewed articles in suitable journals.

    REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):

    • Fluent in written and spoken English;
    • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
