Lecturer: Management Accounting at Vaal University of Technology

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Key performance areas include but are not limited to:

• Provide academic leadership in the field of Management Accounting.
• Teach and assess at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; develop and enhance the Management Accounting curriculum, contributing to the ongoing development, maintenance, and quality control of the programme.
• Lead and contribute to research within Accountancy, including the production of accredited research outputs and the supervision of postgraduate students.
• Develop and sustain industry partnerships, including consultation work and collaborative research initiatives.
• Engage with the community through participation in flagship programmes and projects.
• Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by the line manager.

APPLICATION CRITERIA:

Qualifications and Experience:

• A master’s degree in Management Accounting or a professional designation such as CIMA, ACCA, or CA(SA).
• Strong theoretical and applied knowledge of Management Accounting.
• A minimum of three years’ experience in tertiary education or relevant industry.
• Research experience, including publications in DHET-accredited journals and conference presentations, will be an added advantage.
• Membership or affiliation with a recognised professional body.
