    Director

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Key performance areas include but are not limited to:

    • Providing strategic leadership and governance of the student accommodation and catering portfolio.
    • Overseeing a large-scale accommodation system, including university residences and private accommodation partnerships.
    • Driving financial sustainability and revenue generation to ensure full cost recovery of operations.
    • Managing high-value contracts and service providers, including catering, maintenance, and accommodation partners.
    • Ensuring effective delivery and continuous improvement of catering services, including expansion of access (e.g., kiosks and satellite services).
    • Overseeing infrastructure, maintenance, and facilities management of residences.
    • Leading the implementation of living and learning programmes to enhance student success, wellbeing, and sense of belonging.
    • Managing a large and diverse workforce and promoting a high-performance culture.
    • Ensuring compliance, risk management, and student safety across all accommodation platforms.
    • Monitoring performance, reporting on key outcomes, and driving continuous improvement.
    • Building and maintaining strategic stakeholder relationships internally and externally.

    APPLICATION CRITERIA:

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • A master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Management, Higher Education, the Built Environment, or Hospitality Professional certifications in facilities management, property or housing management, project management, or hospitality management will be an added advantage
    • A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience
    • At least 5 years at senior management level
    • Experience in large-scale accommodation or property management.
    • Contract and service provider management
    • Financial and revenue management
    • Experience in higher education or the public sector is preferred

    Senior Lecturer

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Key performance areas include, but are not limited to:

    • Develop learning material;
    • Deliver lectures on Logistics and Supply Chain Management-related subjects;
    • Prepare study guides and assessments;
    • Liaise with industry, professional bodies, and other educational institutions;
    • Supervise postgraduate students;
    • Contribute to the management of the department;
    • Undertake research and community engagement duties;
    • Attend departmental and faculty meetings;

    • Evidence of research publications in accredited journals and of academic conference papers is required;
    • Evidence of successful postgraduate supervision is required;
    • Membership of relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage;
    • Industry-related experience will be an advantage;

    NGAP Lecturer: Entrepreneurship X2

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Key performance areas include, but are not limited to:

    • Completing a doctoral qualification with specialisation in Entrepreneurship;
    • Contributing to effective teaching and learning in the field of Entrepreneurship and related subjects, as delegated by the Head of Department;
    • Contributing to online course design, maintaining high-quality study guides and subject files, and developing and maintaining teaching portfolios of evidence that adhere to high-quality standards;
    • Conducting assessment and moderation of formative and/or summative assessments;
    • Developing curriculum and instructional materials in line with the university’s and SAQA guidelines;
    • Participating in national and/or international conferences and publishing findings from completed research projects in accredited journals;
    • Fulfilling student and academic administration and reporting duties in line with assigned responsibilities;
    • Displaying sound interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

    APPLICATION CRITERIA:

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • A relevant Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship, or Master of Business Administration (MBA), or any Business Management-related Master’s degree with a research project specialising in Entrepreneurship and a minimum pass mark of 70% (compulsory);
    • Willingness to register for a doctoral qualification with a specialisation in entrepreneurship and to complete it within six years;
    • Membership of, and certification from, relevant professional bodies would be an added advantage;
    • Evidence of research publications in DHET-accredited journals will be an added advantage.
    • To be eligible for selection for an nGAP post, applicants must meet the following criteria, in addition to those specified by the university:
    • Demonstrate interest in becoming an academic
    • Be a South African citizen;
    • Be 40 years old or younger;
    • Provide evidence of eligibility to undertake doctoral study;
    • Be willing to commit to placement at the appointing university for the entire duration of the nGAP.

    Lecturer: Management Accounting

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Key performance areas include but are not limited to:

    • Provide academic leadership in the field of Management Accounting.
    • Teach and assess at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; develop and enhance the Management Accounting curriculum, contributing to the ongoing development, maintenance, and quality control of the programme.

    Psychometrist

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Key performance areas include but are not limited to:

    • Administer psychometric assessments to individuals and groups of students and other clients
    • Compile comprehensive reports for assessed students.
    • Provide psychometric assessment feedback to students and do general career guidance with students
    • Do career development with individuals and groups (e.g. job hunting, CV writing, Interview skills)
    • Assist with coordination of all psychometric testing undertaken in the department
    • Assist with administrative duties related to psychometric testing undertaken in the department
    • Assist with research related to psychometric testing within the department.
    • Assist with coordination of selection and placement testing of prospective and first years if required
    • Assist with training of peer helpers and mentors on relevant topics
    • Assist with rendering of relevant life skills workshops to the student community
    • Assist with departmental awareness campaigns, functions, and other events
    • Be willing to work after hours if required and render services at satellite campuses

    APPLICATION CRITERIA:

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • An Honours degree in Psychology or BPsych equivalent.
    • Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Psychometrist
    • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience.
    • Experience in the higher education environment will be an added advantage
