    Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (P001490)

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Teaching and Learning
    • Research
    • Community engagement
    • Academic leadership

    Minimum requirements

    LECTURER:

    • A Masters of Education in Curriculum Studies or related field (NQF Level 9). 
    • A minimum of two (3) years’ teaching experience at a secondary and/or tertiary education level.

    SENIOR LECTURER:

    • A PhD in Curriculum Studies or related field (NQF Level 10). 
    • A minimum of three (3) years’ teaching experience at a tertiary education level. 
    • Postgraduate Supervision: Successfully supervised at least one master’s student to completion. 
    • At least 3 publications in accredited journals. 

    KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

    • Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning in a higher education context, in Curriculum Studies or a related field.
    • Demonstrated ability to design, assess and moderate undergraduate and postgraduate learning activities.
    • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, study guide development and the preparation of teaching and learning materials.
    • Demonstrated ability to use learning management systems and educational technologies to support teaching, learning and assessment.
    • Demonstrated recent experience in publishing accredited research outputs and or contributing to research initiatives.
    • Demonstrated experience in postgraduate supervision, community engagement and/or professional academic service.

    BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES

    • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
    • Ability to take initiative, solve problems and exercise sound judgement.
    • Reliability, accountability and commitment to professional and ethical academic conduct.
