Local Titles Strategist - Adspace24 at Media24 (Pty) Ltd

Main purpose of the role

Analyse the regional media landscape trends to identify revenue growth opportunities for the Media24 local titles portfolio.  The  strategist is responsible for using trends to build and optimize innovative advertising campaigns for clients across all Media24’s local title brands.

This position will be based in Cape Town and office based.

Key responsibilities:

• To be a conduit between the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Central regions, Adspace24 KAM’s and clients
• Co-create sales opportunities with brands and sales teams
• Initiate weekly operational meetings with regional advertising/sales managers
• Collaborate with editors for commercial opportunities
• Plan and implement workshops and agency activations for brands/regions
• Conceptualise new concepts for the local titles
• Build sales packages for peak trading periods
• Manage workflow on e-inserts for the local title brands
• Continuous analysis of the local titles portfolio and developing of strategic interventions where required
• Research and analyse trends and market/business/industry intelligence in order to identify opportunities for revenue growth
• Analyse clients strategies and align with opportunities for Media24 local titles
• Work closely with media strategists and sales managers to identify solutions for clients
• Build effective relationships and networks internally and externally
• Work directly and collaboratively with development, commercial, editorial, operations, marketing, distribution, printers and customers in an effort to inform and implement product and advertising operational improvements that create commercial value for the portfolio of brands

Required

Qualification

• University degree or postgraduate qualification in the relevant field. Eg. Marketing, Communications Business or equivalent years in related field
• Marketing, Administration

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years experience in media advertising at a Media Owner or client service at agency
• (at mid-senior level)
• Experience in community newspaper environment and advertising sales

Knowledge

• Thorough knowledge of Local Media Landscape.
• Existing client relationships.
• Existing relationships with internal stakeholders
