Logistics Manager at Redheads Engineering Solutions (Pty) Ltd

One of our clients, an international automotive component supplier, has an opening for a Logistics Manager.

Primary purpose of the job:

• Organise the company’s logistical activities and workforce.
• Train, motivate, coach and lead employees.
• Control performance results.
• Lead the logistics operations to ensure optimum logistic performance with the highest customer satisfaction.
• Implement guidelines and procedures to ensure uniform operations in all areas.
• Identify key performance indicators.

Key Performance Areas:

• Ensure optimum logistical performance.
• Ensure the highest customer satisfaction.
• Identify, introduce and monitor key performance indicators.
• Report the status of the Logistics Department to the directorate.
• Compile the financial and capex budgets for Logistics. Manage and monitor expenses against these budgets.
• Propose reward for merit and discipline for in-efficiency.

Knowlegde required:

• Knowledge and understanding of production processes
• Knowledge and understanding of supply chain functions
• Sound knowledge of MRPII
• Knowledge of customer specific requirements in the automotive industry
• Sound knowledge to use Excel spreadsheets
• Knowledge of purchasing processes

Minimum Qualifications/Experience Required:

• Grade 12 and a 3 year degree in Supply Chain Management/Purchasing/Business Administration
• Minimum 5 years experience in supply chain/logistics environment
• Minimum 3 years experience with MPS/MRP (preferably Navision)
• Minimum 3 years exposure to a purchasing environment
• Minimum 5 years experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
