Maintenance Planner - Johannesburg at Tiger Brands

JOB DESCRIPTION

To plan and schedule corrective and preventive maintenance activities by utilising all resources to their maximum capability in order to optimise plant reliability and  improve OEE’s

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and schedule statutory maintenance tasks
• Identify, plan and schedule equipment unsafe conditions
• Draft annual, quarterly, weekly and daily maintenance plans
• Implement workflow management following a 7 days planning cycle
• Implement major outage SOP
• Ensure maintenance plans are smoothed to avoid peaks and dips in activity
• Arrange resources (e.g. spares, tools and materials)
• Manage costs of maintenance activities
• Planned maintenance stoppages communicated and agreed with production planner and all stakeholders
• All work completed is captured on a job card (planned & breakdown)
• Stores informed of spares, tools and materials required ahead of time
• Implementation of spares staging procedure
• Under/ over or inappropriate maintenance activities identified.
• Improve maintenance mix.
• Maintenance schedules reviewed periodically
• Reported all out-of-line trends to the Coordinator and Maintenance Manager
• Update CMMS master data
• Ensure data integrity in CMMS
• Ensure procurement processes are followed
• Implementation and adherence to Maintenance SOP
• Implementation of MECP PM Pillar Blocks

QUALIFICATIONS

Key foundational competencies

• Academic –  N6 or Diploma Mechanical/Electrical  Engineering
• Personal Effectiveness – Assertive, Attention to detail, Be able to do routine work, Ability to work without supervision, Ability to work in a team.

Experience

• Function – 3 plus Years practical experience as maintenance planner 
• Industry – Experience in FMCG industry desirable.
