Summary of Role:
Centrally manage tax and compliance activities for the Organization’s regional offices and activities in the Africa region and abroad , which support and advance the membership and educational activities undertaken by CIMA (UK), AICPA (US) and the Association (US). Partner actively with internal business partners and external consultants given the dynamic and evolving activities under the Association umbrella.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Liaise with regional Finance staff and business owners to identify compliance activities underway and work to transition those functions under this role; noting this will be a staged progression with a focus on the Africa region
Partner with the Senior Manager to review and assess regional compliance activities, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness
Analyse and monitor systems and processes for accurate tax calculations and reporting
Collaborate with the Senior Manager on regional activities impacting the compliance requirements of the UK and US entities
Responsible for the preparation of tax filings (both direct and indirect taxes)
Form alliances with regional staff to identify and assess business activities giving rise to new compliance requirements
Partner with outside tax advisors and other finance leaders to assess compliance obligations
Review completeness and accuracy of draft computations covering all taxes and tax reporting
Assist and take charge of tax audits and notices
Support Global Tax and regional Finance transformation initiatives
Research and document conclusions on compliance issues, advising other departments within the organization as necessary

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Direct and Indirect tax experience in one or more countries in the Africa region, primarily South Africa
Ability to interpret and apply tax regulations and guidance
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
Strong initiative and drive to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Must be a team-oriented individual with the ability to lead projects
Excellent communication skills including English written skills
Required Experience, Qualifications & Education:
5-7 years of relevant experience
3-5 years of regional tax experience
Preferred Experience, Qualifications & Education:
International tax experience
Transfer pricing experience
Knowledge of Oracle
