Mechanical Draughtsperson at Steinmuller Africa

Main Purpose:

• To generate high quality technical drawings fully compliant with SANS 10111 and other internationally accepted drawing standards. The drawings are to be in line with Client requirements and Company internal procedures.

Key Performance Areas:

• Create detailed 2D and 3D designs and drawings for steam generation equipment, including boilers, pressure vessels, and piping systems.
• Arranging and detailing drawings of jigs, tools and structural items related to boiler fabrication in an efficient and clear manner.
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments, standards and technical trends.

Technical Function:

• Interpret and convert sketches provided by the Engineer, effectively into clear drawings, which comply with set drawing standards.
• Check drawings compiled by other Draughtspersons according to the original sketches provided by the Engineer.
• Perform site measurements and creating or updating general arrangement and detail drawings accordingly.
• Prepare flow sheets (P&ID) for specific installations describing all the equipment for the plant.

Administrative Function:

• Allocate drawing numbers and revisions according to the specific requirements of small and large projects.
• Assist in the flow of drawings through the checking and approval process.
• Control and report on hours spent on specific tasks.
• Any other job related duties as required from time to time.

Preferred Requirements:

• Matric/N3.
• National Diploma in the mechanical field.
• Relevant drafting training and qualification is essential.
• 8 Years’ related experience in the mechanical or piping fields.
• Knowledge of 3D draughting and modelling will be advantageous.
• Proficient in the Autodesk Suite of Products – specifically the Product Design and Manufacturing Collection.
• Computer literate (AutoCAD and MS Office).
