    Medical Practice Receptionist

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum 2+ years' experience in a similar environment is ideal (Medical Private Practice).
    • Effective communication skills (written, spoken and electronic).
    • SA Citizen with clear criminal and credit history.
    • Reliable transport and the preparedness to work on public holidays and Saturdays (on rotation).
    • Excellent level of patient services and a positive attitude.
    • Must pay attention to detail and possess good organisational skills.
    • Must be able to work well in a team.
    • Bilingualism is advantageous.
    • Figure acumen.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

    • Greets patients in the facilities and over the phone.
    • Knowledge of MedEDi / PRACTICE PERFECT
    • Schedules doctors’ appointments for patients written in diary & on MedEDi calendar.
    • Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival.
    • Performs clerical and administrative tasks.
    • Prepares medical files.
    • Authorisations for room procedures
    • Specialist appointments for patients
    • Updating patient medical & personal information on patient files and MedEDi.
    • Protect patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
    • Dealing with medical representative’s – appointments / doctors’ lunches.
    • Credit controlling.
    • Benefit checks.
    • Theatre roster (anaesthetics)
    • Emails from patients. (scripts/requests etc.).
