    MERL Director

    The Job

    The MERL Director supervises the MERL team as well as working with other multi-functional teams and Stakeholders, in order to systematically generate, synthesize, share and apply insights to maximize the impact of our work and enable us to achieve our strategic priorities and objectives.

    You will also be responsible for: 

    • Setting the strategy for Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning.
    • Developing and implementing a robust monitoring and evaluation framework that allows us to monitor and evaluate the extent to which we are making progress in achieving our stated goals and priorities, as articulated in our strategy.
    • Overseeing and managing all evaluation studies that we undertake ourselves, or that are undertaken by external parties.
    • Developing and implementing a research and learning strategy that ensures that learning and results are fully documented, shared, and used to drive adaptive management processes.

    About You

    • You’re an expert in the field of M&E and have a history of thought, leadership and publication in this space.  You are able to direct and supervise all of our activities across the MERL realm.

    Requirements

    • 10+ years of experience working in a similar role within the M&E and MERL field.
    • You are Tech Savvy, and have an inquisitive nature, with a proven track record of managing individuals and teams.
    • You have a background in statistics, quantitative research and data modelling and the systems used for this, and have your experience demonstrates this.

    The Rewards

The monthly salary bracket for this position is R76, 892 - R115, 337 in South Africa, Ksh499, 133 - Ksh784, 699 in Kenya, and €4,020 - €6,031 in Portugal, plus benefits and allowances. We will offer you a salary in this bracket depending on your level of experience and how it relates to your future colleagues.
