Millwright Assistant - Kathu at Tshipi E Ntle Manganese Mining

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

• To assist the millwright with all electrical and mechanical duties such as removing/replacing pulley gut/scraper. The role assists the millwright with the assembly, installation, alteration and testing of machinery parts and other equipment.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Assists artisan in performing both planned and unscheduled maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimize breakdowns and downtime.
• Performs housekeeping tasks during and after completion of assigned work.
• Fits, inspects, tests and repairs both mechanical and electrical equipment, including electrical circuits and wiring systems in collaboration with the artisan.
• Assists with installation and commission of machinery and equipment.
• Aligns and calibrates machinery and equipment parts as required for efficient and safe operation.
• Assists in achieving all maintenance, housekeeping and safety objectives and principles.
• Adheres to all safety and operational requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• Grade 12 (Matric) / NQF level 4
• Valid driver’s license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION/S

• Higher Certificate / NQF level 5 Qualification

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

• Up to 2 year’s related experience in electrical and mechanical engineering as artisan aid or similar within a mining environment.
