Mine Exploration Geologist - Mokopane at Ivanhoe Mines

• The Database Geologist' role is responsible for setting up and managing geological databases, maintaining, implementing and managing all aspects of geological database management and compiling and administering geological and production databases utilizing best practice's methods in line with the organizational and corporate reserve block models to enable monthly forecasts, reconciliation to production data and reporting of Mineral Resources which will enable IvanPlat Platreef Mine to achieve its strategic objectives. Other duties may include contributing to geological interpretation of geological structures information and deposits, managing standards and procedures when generating and analyzing data, providing insights and recommendations to the business. 
• The role involves technically accurate and precise application of routines after developing a profound and incisive understanding of the of the geology of Platreef orebody. You will have to apply knowledge of geology, mining, mineralogy, metallurgy, mill recovery, and geostatistics to develop mineral resource and mineral reserve block model estimates in compliance with industry and governmental (NI 43-101). This role requires a committed professional approach to the work.

You will have the following:

• Grade 12 
• Degree Hons. in Geology 
• 1-2 years' experience within exploration 
• Responsible for managing the core handling and execution of the underground drilling delineation drilling programme, sample processing activities and geological interpretation of the Ivanhoe Mines' flagship PGM project, IvanPlats Mine. 

You will have advanced skills and knowledge in: 

• Basic MS Word 
• Advanced MS Excel
• Basic Leapfrog (3D software)
• Basic Database Management 
• Good Analytical skills
• Communicate clearly both verbally and written
• Must be self-motivated, efficient, and innovative/pro-active
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Good communication skills
