    National Maintenance Planner

    MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

    Planning

    • Active participation to support management of data centre infrastructure to provide a concurrently maintainable, cost-effective system supporting 99.999% electrical uptime & 99.99% mechanical uptime.
    • Administration of company CMMS/EAM system.
    • Co-ordinate corrective, preventative and predictive maintenance activities for all Teraco Data Centres by developing a detailed rolling routine to optimise assets throughout their lifecycle. 
    • Develop and maintain maintenance schedules, ensure visibility thereof and enforce strict adherence to such.
    • Drive the interactions and collaboration with all planning stakeholders to ensure the maintenance plans align with the deliverables of our business plans.
    • Ensure client notifications contain concise, accurate information and sent out to the correct recipients on time by the necessary departments.
    • Co-ordinate, assess and review maintenance efforts to ensure all facilities maintained to Teraco standards.
    • Collaborate with operational teams and service providers to schedule resources for planned maintenance work.
    • Ensure that all maintenance works performed are in accordance with established practices and procedures and are completed in a timeous manner.
    • Weekly review of all audits and tasks on the maintenance management system to ensure correct documentation has been uploaded and standards have been adhered to.
    • Weekly status updates/reporting to relevant stakeholders, on all maintenance related tasks and audits.
    • Where possible, standardise maintenance activities across all facilities.
    • Continually improving planning, scheduling, data management and job reporting systems to increase planning effectiveness and efficiency in an ever-evolving environment.
    • Troubleshoot and perform effective root cause analysis to permanently resolve maintenance related issues. Adherence to timelines is critical.
    • Provide system training and ongoing support on the maintenance platform to the infrastructure maintenance team.
    • Keep the National Maintenance Manager informed of abnormal or critical situations and seek advice as needed.
    • Respond to emergency calls for maintenance.
    • Perform administrative tasks as required. 

    Compliance

    • Maintain compliance in accordance with all relative policies and procedures.
    • Meet agreed inter-departmental OLA (Operational Level Agreement)
    • H&S monitoring and corrective action to meet statutory compliance, SLAs, and good business practice.
    • Implement company and departmental policies, processes, and work instructions as per the agreed quality and timeline/RFS.
    • Active participation for both external and internal audits

    Critical System Management

    • Ensure all maintenance events are scheduled correctly on the maintenance management platform.
    • Ensure all planned, preventative, and corrective maintenance is managed in accordance to ensure customer MSA’s and SLAs are achieved.
    • Task finalisation and report accurately, as per agreed format, quality and within the agreed timelines.
    • Ensure that the client communication process has been adhered to.

    Data Centre Ethics

    • Ensure compliance is maintained incorporating industry best practices.
    • Ensure data centre facilities standards are enforced and maintained.
    • Ensure data centre cleaning standards are enforced and maintained.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Electrical qualification preferable.
    • Maintenance Planning experience essential.
    • Proficiency in SAP PM or similar CMMS/EAM systems.
    • Proven track record in Multi-site Maintenance Management essential.
    • Minimum 5 years relevant Data Centre experience preferable.
    • Extensive knowledge on Data Centre environments and Critical Infrastructure Systems preferable.
    • Proven experience with maintenance and reliability initiatives, focused on Preventive and Predictive maintenance.
    • Experience managing, maintaining, and establishing maintenance procedures for operational environments to ensure equipment reliability meets or exceeds expectations.
    • Proven ability to maintain assets and the facility, control parts inventory, monitor purchase orders, approve invoices, and manage a budget.
    • Manage maintenance teams (staff technicians & contractors).
