Network Security Specialist at Public Investment Corporation

Purpose of the role:

• To carry out security measures to protect the company’s information assets, as well as perform operational tasks across security capabilities, providing review and oversight to a number of security controls.

Requirements:

• BSC Computer Science Degree / BTech (Information Technology) / Information Security or related degree with at least 3 - 6 years’ experience in the Information Security Field.
• At least two of these Security+, Certified Network Defender (CND), CEH, CISSP, CCNA or similar network security professional certifications.
• Good understanding of complex IT systems and staying up to date with the latest security standards, systems and protocols, as well as best practice security products.
• Advanced enterprise network security.
• Excellent knowledge of cloud technologies, information security technologies such as firewalls,
• intrusion detection systems (IDS), data leakage protection (DLP), access management, antimalware, and SIEM technologies.
• Knowledge of various Information security domains.
• Hands-on experience with security workloads in public cloud environments (Azure/AWS/GCP), including identity federation and network segmentation. Encryption and logging.
• Familiarity with CSPM and Zero Trust implementation patterns.
• Working knowledge of South African data protection legislation (POPIA) and financial sector cybersecurity regulations; ability to translate compliance requirements into technical controls.
• Experience embedding security into CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of container security, API gateway protection, and IaC security validation tool.
• Knowledge of the current cybersecurity threat landscape, risks and protocols.

Duties:

• Deploy, Support, Maintain and monitor various cloud-based and on-prem information security solutions.
• Organise and Conduct vulnerability assessments on the PIC network and systems.
• Integrate information security throughout the solutions or system life cycle.
• Support the successful completion of internal/external security audits with zero major findings.
• Analyse existing security systems and make recommendations for changes or improvements.
• Monitor PIC ICT network and systems to identify potential vulnerabilities and provide early warning of abnormalities or problems.
• Communicate the system status and keep users informed of downtime or changes to the system.
• Troubleshoot and resolve information security-related incidents.
• Prepare relevant information security reports and documentation.
• Ability to articulate security risks and investment rationale to non-technical stakeholders.
